The challenge
Drive are an automotive design consultancy with an impressive client list including McLaren, Rolls Royce and Ford.
Having just surpassed 25 years in business, founder Chris approached Red Sentence with the intention of creating a new updated website which showcased some of the exciting projects they have worked on, along with clearly showing how they support their clients with their extensive experience and knowledge.
The solution
Drive’s previous website had quickly become outdated and was no longer a true reflection of the business Drive is today.
A strong focus on design was needed, along with simplifying the user journey which would guide the website visitors through their service offering. At the same time the new site needed to show that Drive not only works with large global household name car manufactures such as Nissan or Honda, but also smaller car manufacturers and design companies.
A new structure was needed to take the users through the different stages of their service offering, showing relevant case studies at each stage. During the discovery stage we created a full site wireframe to make sure that before we even started to think about how the site might look, we ensured that the content flowed with clear call to actions along the way.
With a great portfolio of visualisations, photographs and videos, the design of the website was very image focused. At the same time as the website was being developed, Drive director Mark was also developing a book, so we needed to ensure there was a visual consistency.
As part of the new site launch, we migrated over an archive of blogs and news articles from the existing site, bringing them into the new design and ensuring any removed content had the correct redirects in place to minimise any impact on SEO.
The scope
- UX design
- UI design
- Website development
- Content migration
The results
6 weeks after launch…
- 22% improvement in average session time
- 10% increase in organic search results
- 15% improvement in engaged sessions
An extremely knowledgeable team who not only focused on how things were going to look, but helped us to consider and understand how potential customers might find our website, and how they might use it to find the information they were looking for.
They took time to understand what we wanted to achieve and were helpful, patient, and worked hard to decipher our ideas and requirements into a great new website.
Working with the team at Red Sentence was a great experience. Pleasure to deal with and highly recommended.
